Event description

A day to re-connect with yourself and invest in your health and wellbeing.

Learn techniques to calm your nervous system, tap into joy triggers, and renew your sense of purpose.

We live in challenging times on many levels. Sometimes, the whole world seems on fire. It’s no wonder that many people experience overwhelming emotions, chronic stress, and a decline in mental health and wellbeing.

Feeling overwhelmed and uncertain is a normal reaction to difficult conditions that threaten your experience of joy, calm and purpose.

This day retreat has been developed to help you find answers to these questions:

  • How can I remain centred and grounded in the middle of storm?
  • How do I move forward with meaningful action when you are being pushed and pulled in all directions?
  • How do I stay connected to joy even when things feel heavy and overwhelming?

None of this is possible if you do not have a safe space to recover, rejuvenate, and find strength. A safe space that is always accessible and never goes offline. That space is your inner sanctuary - an untouchable, indestructible, and unlimited resource; the core of the authentic YOU.

“Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at anytime and be yourself.”
Herman Hesse

What to expect

We will have a full day (10am - 5pm) to nourish and resource ourselves mentally, emotionally and physically in a beautiful location in Newmarket, Brisbane. The retreat size is purposeful limited to a maximum of 12 participants to create an intimate and psychologically safe environment where your individual needs and questions can be addressed.

While this is not a yoga retreat, we will explore embodied approaches to nervous system regulation (bottom-up learning). For some of the activities, we will sit or lie on the floor. Yoga mats and blocks will be provided to keep us comfortable, and you are invited to bring your own if you prefer. Please note that no yoga experience is required, and this is not a physically demanding workshop by any means.

We will also have access to tables and chairs for other parts of the retreat that facilitate more head-based learning activities and conversations (top-down approach).
You can bring along any personal comfort items that help you to connect with yourself and let go of your everyday pressures and responsibilities, e.g. earphones to listen to your favourite music, a comfy pillow or blanket, a journal.

Please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely, breathe deeply and stay warm.

There are several shops nearby to purchase lunch, including the Newstead Shopping Center. Alternatively, you can also bring your own food with you. The venue has a small fridge.

What's included
  • You will be provided with an inspirational "Inner sanctuary" workbook that guides you through activities and offers plenty of prompts for reflection and journaling
  • Morning tea and afternoon tea
  • Yoga mats and blocks will be provided (please bring you own if you prefer)
