SPACE GIRLS FESTIVAL PRESENTS BACK-TO-BACK EVENTS
Gympie gets ready for two nights of bold and diverse music experiences this June
The team behind the Space Girls Festival is turning up the volume this June with not one, but two electrifying nights of music, creativity, and connection. Following the success of last year’s OUTER SPACE, the 2025 edition will launch into a double feature:
🪐 OUTER SPACE II – Thursday 26 June at Headspace Gympie
🎧 INNER SPACE – Friday 27 June at Gympie Music Hall
Both events are proudly hosted in collaboration with Loose Knit Productions and will feature an exciting lineup of emerging and established music artists, with a strong focus on female and gender-diverse performers.
INNER SPACE featuring major headline act Babyshakes Dillon (Full Flower Moon Band)
Full Flower Moon Band have bloomed into one of Australia’s fiercest rock exports, known for their searing sound and magnetic live energy. Led by the fearless songwriting of Kate ‘Babyshakes’ Dillon, they have built a reputation for electrifying performances at festivals including Splendour In The Grass. Praised by the Newcastle Herald for how “she [Babyshakes] can hypnotise an audience like Chrissy Amphlett armed with an electric guitar.”
Dive deeper with INNER SPACE – an introspective, immersive experience featuring an intimate solo performance by Gympie girl gone big time on the Australian and international rock scene Babyshakes Dillion. INNER SPACE offers a softer, soul-nourishing complement to the high-energy vibe of OUTER SPACE.
Curated for all people seeking originality in music, or unique experience.. INNER SPACE fosters meaningful conversations and connection – all within a safe and welcoming space.
Local guest support from Madison Levi and queer indie teen rockers Hugo and the Hive.
These back-to-back events celebrate the mission of Space Girls Festival: to amplify underrepresented voices and provide opportunities for creative youth to shine, connect and be inspired. Both nights are free for young people and supported by a passionate crew of artists, youth workers, and arts professionals.
Cindy Vogels, Designer to the stars – Lady Gaga fame 2014 and too many more since - is Co-Director who founded Space Girls Festival in 2018 and is a fierce advocate for women in music. With more than a decade of tireless work behind the scenes, dressing the music through her bespoke label Racy&Lucky and curating live original music events, Cindy has continually pushed for stronger gender equity across the industry.
“It feels incredible to share this announcement from our little regional utopia. This evolution would not be possible without the powerhouse support of my Co-Director Nicole Harper, our passionate audiences and supporters who champion the Space Girls mission,” said Vogels.
“The message is clear and we can’t wait to celebrate with you. Two nights. Two distinct vibes. One powerful message: It’s time to take up more S P A C E G I R L S!!”
Thanks to generous supporters: headspace Gympie, Pride Foundation Australia, our local Community Branch Gympie (Bendigo Bank), and Regional Arts Development Fund (a partnership between Queensland Government and Gympie Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
