Singing Workshop (5.30-6.30pm) (Free for those who purchase tickets for the concert)

The concert will be preceded by a one-hour singing workshop - the delight of learning the English version of a traditional Slavic Folk Song “Golden Wreath” from Innessa’s latest album.

Join Innessa for an immersive journey into the enigmatic world of singing traditional Slavic Folk songs! Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or a beginner looking to explore your vocal potential, this workshop is designed to expand your musical horizons.

Start off with essential vocal warm-up exercises to prepare your voice for singing. Engage with fellow participants in a supportive and collaborative learning environment, and have fun.

At the end of the workshop, you'll have the chance to perform the song in front of an audience during the concert that follows.

The Librarian Action Dolls (with Spike Flynn & Gary Brown)

The Librarian Action Dolls are a three-part harmony country singing group, backed by Spike Flynn on finger-picking guitar and Gary Brown on Dobro. Their love of harmonies developed through a capella singing and an affinity for the unaffected Appalachian music styles. Their repertoire includes country gospel dating back to the 1800s and traditional songs such as those performed by The Carter Family and Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, as well as more contemporary material. They have recently performed at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival.

Over a number of years, the trio has sung with a variety of ensembles. These include the Melbourne country-folk band The Original Snakeskins, which featured Anne Unger as lead vocalist and with whom Victoria Clayton and Lisa Cripps performed at venues and festivals, such as the Apollo Bay Music Festival and the Northern Beaches Music Festival.

Spike Flynn is an accomplished finger-picking guitarist. He won the Tamworth Songwriters Association 2017 alt-country section award and first place in the FOOM 2002 International Song Writing Competition.

Gary Brown is one of Australia’s foremost Dobro/lap steel guitar players. He was inducted into the Australian Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2015.
