Innovations in workplace giving
Event description
Contrary to what many think, philanthropy is not just something that those with wealth do. There are so many ways that people can make an impact through philanthropy - big and small - and in fact, the vast bulk of the more than $10 billion donated to Australian charities each year comes from smaller donations, with research showing that planned givers who make a regular donation tend to give more.
Workplace giving is a burgeoning area of planned giving - providing a simple and efficient way for employees to regularly donate to charities through their employer’s payroll system.
In this impact2021 webinar we’ll explore some of the innovative approaches we’re seeing in workplace giving across Australia, and we’ll discuss how we can get more people involved.
The webinar panel will also take a look at the Giving Circles at Work pilot undertaken in 2019 and 2020, which involved a collective approach to workplace giving and had the added benefit of fostering collaboration and building relationships between employees.
The panel will also examine some exciting models being used by larger and smaller businesses to encourage workplace giving, and we'll hear a charity’s perspective about the benefits of these types of donations.
Panel moderator:
- Krystian Seibert: Industry Fellow, Centre for Social Impact Swinburne / Policy Adviser, Philanthropy Australia
Panellists:
- Lisa Grinham: CEO, Good2Give
- Danielle Maxwell: Director, Findex Community Fund
- Ariahne Thompson: Workplace Giving & Corporate Engagement Manager, WWF-Australia
