Insect Investigation - Great Southern Bioblitz (adults)

Join City of Boroondara and our Back2Nettleton Friends Group as we compete in the 2025 Great Southern Bioblitz. You'll be helping to put Boroondara's flora and fauna on the world map, whilst contributing to important citizen science data collection. The challenge runs for 4 days only: Friday 24th - Monday 27th October 2025.

We invite you to come along and join in an evening of insect spotting and identification with the Entomological Society of Victoria. We will be on hand to help you spot, learn about, and record your sightings, as we focus on our amazing insect species! 

We will take you on a guided walk through the park to spot various spider species, followed by the opportunity to look at moths on our moth sheet! 

We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event, however this is not essential to attend the session.

Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for an outdoor walk along uneven ground. Please bring a torch and dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

When: 8pm - 9pm. This walk is targetted at adults and we will be running a family friendly walk at 7pm.

Where: Nettleton Park, Glen Iris (off Dawson Drive).
Where to meet: please meet in front of the Nettleton Park Pavilion. There is a public carpark opposite the park on Dawson Drive,

PLEASE NOTE: Children must have an adult guardian present throughout the event. It is the guardian’s responsibility to supervise your child.
