Event description

Join Pro Photography WA and sponsor Team Digital, for an insight into what it takes to run and work in a photography studio.

Whether you’re considering setting up your own space or want to get more out of the one you have, this session will give you practical insights from working professionals who’ve built their careers in studio environments.

Join us for a practical, behind-the-scenes look at how studios operate, why they’re worth the investment, and what it really takes to keep one running smoothly.

We’ve brought together three professional photographers who work in studios to form our panel of experts:

Benjamin McCoy (Good Life Portraits) - family portraits

Kirsten Graham (Kirsten Graham Photography) - commercial and branding

Craig Kinder (Craig Kinder Food Photography) - food photography

Ben, Craig and Kirsten will share their insights on working in and running a studio. They’ll discuss the benefits, challenges, and day-to-day realities of studio work, from managing clients to shooting and working with lighting.

There will also be a live demo shoot, where some of the speakers will walk through different lighting styles and techniques, giving you a hands-on look at how they bring their studio work to life.

Event programme

  • 5.30pm: Arrival and registration of your attendance. Light refreshments will be available.
  • 6.00pm: Presentation and discussion by the speakers/panelists.
  • 7.00pm: Studio shooting demo by the speakers/panelists.
  • 8:00pm: Event concludes.

Pro Photography Members attend for Free (but you still need to register to attend by obtaining a Free Member Ticket).

Non-members: $65 per ticket.

We look forward to sharing an amazing evening of "shedding light" on running and managing professional photography studios with you!
