Balancing effort and enjoyment

In conjunction with Dharma Brisbane, this one-day on-line workshop will explore the balance between effort and enjoyment in insight meditation. Using the example of the Buddha’s own life story, we will discover creative ways to bring more ease, enjoyment and balance into our meditation and our daily lives.

The day will include short dharma talks, guided and silent meditation, dyad (pairs) practice, and small group discussion.

Using the Zoom platform, our online session times will be:

9:30 - 12:30 pm (with a break mid-way)

1:30 - 4:30 pm (with a break mid-way)

Experience level: This retreat is best suited to people who have done at least one previous insight meditation weekend workshop.

Workshop cost: The registration fee of AUD$25 covers only a contribution to the costs associated with setting up and running the workshop.

In most Buddhist traditions the teachers are not paid to teach. Instead, the teachings are given on a ‘dana’ basis – dana being the Pali word for generosity or giving freely - so there will be an opportunity to offer a donation to the teacher for the teachings, at the end of the workshop.
