Demystifying & Reducing the Stigma of Restrictive Practices: 23rd September 2025
Restrictive practices remain one of the most complex and sensitive areas within Positive Behaviour Support. Too often, they are misunderstood, stigmatised, or hidden away, leading to fear, avoidance, and inconsistent practice. However when used ethically, transparently, and with a strong reduction plan, restrictive practices can sometimes be necessary to safeguard dignity, safety, and wellbeing.
In this professional training webinar, Insight PBS practitioners Ainsley and Jess will go beyond the basics to unpack the myths and misconceptions surrounding restrictive practices. Through a series of real-world case studies and practical examples, they will demonstrate how restrictive practices can be identified and acknowledged without stigma or defensiveness. You'll also lean how to apply ethically and lawfully when absolutely required, monitor and reduce through proactive planning and skill-building strategies.
Positive Behaviour Support in the Classroom: 28th October 2025
Managing diverse behaviours in the classroom is one of the greatest challenges facing teachers today. With multiple diagnoses, varied presentations, and complex needs, educators often feel underprepared to respond effectively. The right Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies can transform not only behaviour but the overall learning environment.
In this two-hour Masterclass, Anna, Insight PBS’s classroom specialist, will share her expertise from years of working directly in classrooms. Together with Jess, she will demonstrate how PBS principles can be applied in real-world teaching environments to build confidence, reduce disruption, and create positive, inclusive spaces for every student.
Trauma-informed PBS: 2nd December 2025
Trauma has a profound impact on how individuals think, feel, and behave, and understanding its effects is essential for anyone delivering Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). Whether the trauma stems from childhood experiences, environmental stressors, or intersecting with disability and diagnosis, its influence on behaviour cannot be ignored.
In this two-hour Masterclass, two of Insight PBS' most experienced practitioners will explore the principles of trauma-informed practice and its application within Behaviour Support. With a wealth of experience in trauma and behaviour, our practitioners will guide participants through both theory and practice, offering real-world insights that deepen understanding and strengthen professional skills.
