Event description

Sarah Morrissey from CF Together and Natalie Smith would love to share something with you! Passionate about shared and peer practice for greater impact in communities, they’re hosting Insight Breakfasts for Not-for-Profit and Community Leaders. This is an in-person event and hopefully the first of many.

A Little Bit About Us

Sarah Morrissey is the Executive Manager, Fundraising and Marketing at CF Together. She leads with compassion and purpose, using her experience to engage, support, and advocate for the cystic fibrosis community.

Natalie Smith is the Lead Researcher, Insights and Impact, known for her work in community-engaged research and ethical practice. As a registered health professional, she works across social and health projects, supporting others to strengthen their engagement and research practice. Natalie is also a passionate facilitator and is her in happy space when creating spaces for shared learning and reflection.

About Our Host

CF Together is a national organisation dedicated to advancing progress for people living with cystic fibrosis. They are dedicated to improving the lives of people living with CF, advancing CF care, and ultimately finding a cure. They are proud to host this event as they recognise the importance of bringing together not-for-profit and community leaders to share ideas, learn from one another’s experiences, and find new ways to grow collective impact. Together, we can build stronger, more innovative organisations that create real change in our communities.

What to Expect

Join us at the CF Together head office in Carnegie, Victoria.
You’ll be welcomed by Sarah and Natalie, enjoy a light breakfast from Waverley Social Enterprises, and a barista-made coffee from Spilt Milk our local café downstairs. Once everyone is settled, Sarah and Natalie will introduce the purpose behind the insights breakfasts and guide a short activity to get to know each other.

To kick off our first session, they’ll share a global award-winning case study in research innovation, recently recognised with the ESOMAR Tony Cowling Foundation Innovation Award. You’ll hear how they engaged young people in research through Snapchat, what challenges they faced, and how they worked together to bring best practices to life.

Afterwards, you’ll have time for small-group reflection and discussion, exploring what this approach might look like in your own work, what challenges you might face, and what goals you can set for your own practice. We’ll finish with casual networking and an opportunity to get to know each other more.

About the Case Study

This award-winning project explored a new way to engage young people in research and program evaluation through Snapchat. Led by Natalie’s “Listen and Do” approach and the CF Together commitment to innovation, the project demonstrated how ethical, youth-led engagement can shape meaningful insights and impact.
