Are you a Year 7-10 HSIE teacher in NSW embarking on teaching the new history curriculum in 2027?
Did you know that teaching about Australia in WW2 and the Holocaust will be embedded in the new curriculum from Year 7-10?
Providing the best quality teaching content for your classroom can seem daunting - and we are here to help!
Insights: Foundations for Teaching the Holocaust is the most comprehensive professional development program for teachers in NSW. It provides understanding and resources for teaching the Holocaust, Jewish history and the contribution of survivors in Australia.
The Program includes:
A 2- day in-person professional development course at the Sydney Jewish Museum covering all core curriculum content.
Access to a detailed online learning platform called Insights that provides a comprehensive history of the Holocaust and its impact - enhancing your knowledge and skills.
Teacher resources that cannot be accessed anywhere else. Lesson plans, personal stories from Holocaust survivors and other useful tools - all thoughtfully designed to facilitate your teaching.
Ongoing access to Insights as the platform continues to build resources and content.
The Program commences with in-person training over 2 days from 9am-4pm on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 March 2027.
Once in-person training is complete, all participants will begin the Insights online modules, unlocking a treasure trove of resources to help you in your classroom.
Cost for the complete program including in-person training and full access to Insights: $300 per person
** Note: The Sydney Jewish Museum is committed to supporting the teaching of accurate and complete Holocaust history. This program is open to all teachers in NSW, and no one should be excluded due to cost. If you require financial assistance, please contact our team at insights@sjm.com.au to discuss the options.
