Come along to our Volunteering North Queensland quarterly catch-ups to connect with Volunteers, Volunteering Involved Organisations, and the wider community. Join us for a special breakfast where we highlight a different organisation every quarter, and hear about the amazing work they are doing in our community.

Let's celebrate the end of a jam-packed year, with International Volunteer Day on the 5th December, and Christmas right around the corner, it's the perfect chance to connect and catch up before we "wrap up" for the year 🎁

Guest Speaker | Julie Payten

A mother of three, daughter of a migrant and passionate community volunteer, Julie Payten’s volunteering journey began more than 20 years ago through an unexpected opportunity in the corporate world.

From corporate volunteering and Volunteering North Queensland to grassroots community initiatives, Julie’s experiences have shaped both her personal and professional journey. Today, she works in marketing and public affairs at Townsville's leading humanitarian settlement organisation, TMSG - Townsville Multicultural Support Group.

Reflecting on her full-circle journey and the 2026 International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, Julie explores how thinking differently, challenging assumptions and embracing unexpected connections all help to build a sustainable culture of volunteering, and how you can incorporate this into your organisation.
