Urban Design Forum | Inspiring Women Shaping the Urban Agenda: Anne Mie Depuydt
Lecture Series Overview
Urban Design Forum is excited to present Inspiring Women Shaping the Urban Agenda, our first International Lecture Series.
This series celebrates leading women in urban design, and explores their ideas, projects and approaches shaping cities around the world.
Join us for a conversation about urban ecology, the city as an “open form” and the role of designers in leaving room for everyday life.
Facilitated by Urban Design Forum Australia.
Our 2nd Speaker:
Our second speaker is Anne Mie Depuydt, Co-founder of uapS and an architect and urban designer with over three decades of experience in practice and teaching.
Anne Mie will explore urban ecology through three projects: Ivry POP, a productive landscape on a former industrial site along the Seine; Corbeville, a new neighbourhood on the Saclay plateau; and Quinconces, part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Village. Drawing on her idea of the city as an “open form”, she shows how designing dialogues, upcycling the ordinary and leaving space for everyday life can make cities more resilient.
