In kink, we unfortunately often associate intent and impact with accountability and repair. But what if we're discussing intent and desired impact when it comes to consented, desired, wanted activities that are thoroughly discussed and prepared for? What about intent and impact with sadism, edge play, and dark themes?

Intent is woven into everything we do, and by learning to pay more proactive attention and to interact intentionally in ways that honor and center impact, we can better create and experience more desired and fulfilling outcomes in and out of play.

Class and Discussion Topics Include

• What is intentionality as a personal concept and how does impact affect intent? • Identifying and defining internal and external intention processes • Identifying capacity and setting realistic expectations for our intended impact • Process of creating intention and maintaining consistent intention through implementation • Small ways to show increased intention when hitting the mark physically, more than just using a needle stencil, as well as when communicating and scene planning • Intention and impact in sharps and edge play scene planning, communication, and debriefing

✦ About the Educator ✦

Mr. Fox (they/he) is a queer, neurodivergent and disabled, polyamorous kinkster with experience as a Dom, sub, and primal player. They are passionate about food, mental health, community organizing, and facilitating intersectional connection and growth.

From 2012 to 2021, Fox organized monthly educational, play, and community events across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia through their event label Indecent Enterprises, and was a co-founding organizer of The Compound at Camp Social Club.

Fox is also a mental health professional divesting from licensure and provides online and international mental health education, advocacy, and coaching services for adolescents, adults, relationships, families, and organizations. Their teaching centers honesty, harm reduction, and accountability while maintaining compassion and respect for lived experience.
