Interaction 2020 is a youth conference that is being hosted by the Rotaract Club of Burleigh Heads and supported by Rotary district 9640 (encompassing the area from the Gold Coast south to Grafton, and west from the coastline to Goondiwindi). Interaction is a one-day intensive conference that aims to empower, motivate and strengthen the charitable values of young adults ages 12 – 18. The day aims to bring like-minded youth together and strengthen their community mindset by providing them with the tools to further themselves and grow as a person. It will aim to develop charitable and volunteering values, as well as transferable skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication.

The day will include a motivational keynote speaker, as well as sessions run by the Rotaractors about the idea of global citizenship and how we are all connected. Touching on the effects that we can have on the world and the network of people that we are connected to. In a world where jobs come from an individual’s network and who they know, this session will enlighten all of the wealth of networks that they already have. It will touch on the effects of Rotary and our affiliated programs and opportunities for school students all with similar aims and benefits to each individual.

On top of all of this, there will be breakout sessions where all attending (student, parent, teacher or Rotarian) will be able to participate in specialised and tailored sessions. For the students, this will focus on skill development and networking with different organisations, which will be facilitated by Rotaractors. There will also be a house of friendship (charity line up) which will include different charity organisations, both locally and internationally aimed, in order to inspire and broaden the mindsets and knowledge of the students.

The day has a cost of only $10/per delegate and will include the conference, morning tea and lunch.
