This panel discussion features diverse voices from both creative and technical fields, exploring how innovation emerges when disparate ideas converge. We'll examine evolving interfaces - ranging from natural language processing to augmented reality - and how these new interaction models are reshaping creative expression and technical development. The discussion will highlight how the blending of physical and digital experiences is creating unprecedented opportunities for innovation.

Claire Tennant
Mould maker, model maker and casting specialist!
After obtaining a degree in Industrial Design (BA, Des) from Swinburne University of Technology, Claire was drawn to ‘doing and making’ over design. She fell into the film and television industry specialising in stop-motion animation she has had a very successful film adventure working on big name productions like Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mister Fox and Adam Elliot’s Australian masterpiece Mary and Max. After travelling for work, Claire returned to Australia and spent nearly 15 years based in Sydney, casting and sculpting in different art foundries, running workshops and worked with artists and sculptors to realise their vision in three dimensions. Sometimes working with a finished sculpture to mould and cast, other times working off a sketch, Claire has developed her own unique processes for digitising and creating art pieces from sketch to three dimensions.
Josh Calder
Josh Calder is a technology and business leader with a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and community impact. With a career spanning startups, not-for-profits, and open source, Josh brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise. He currently leads the Goals Engineering Team at Culture Amp and has deep experience across platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, and product development. Josh holds an MBA from RMIT, where he focused on human-centred design, and is a founding board member of Neighbourhood Collective Australia - the non-profit behind The Old Church on the Hill. His work sits at the intersection of creative expression and technical execution—bridging ideas, disciplines, and communities to drive transformational change.
