Internal communication for impact: How to engage your team in sustainability
Event description
How do you communicate your organisation’s sustainability efforts and strategy internally in a way that gets buy-in and drives meaningful change? How do you move from isolated effort to shared responsibility - where sustainability is embedded in the culture, not carried by just one or two people?
Getting engagement from your team on sustainability, ESG or B Corp can be a real challenge.
Whether you're rolling out a formal strategy or just starting to build internal momentum, engaging your team is critical.
In this interactive 90-minute workshop, facilitated by Caroline Thalund, we’ll explore how to build real engagement, using behavioural insights, practical tools, and real-world examples. This is an active session with group work and practical templates and examples. Caroline will be joined by John Eatwell, who will share insights, tips, and take part in a Q&A.
Who it’s for
Sustainability leads, B Keepers, managers leading internal change, internal comms teams, and executive teams – anyone trying to get their organisation on board with sustainability, and ready to move from strategy to culture.
Speakers
Caroline Thalund is a business sustainability expert with a focus on behaviour and impact. She spent most of her career leading internal sustainability efforts across a range of industries - from aviation and manufacturing to finance and tech - so she understands the real-world challenges of driving change inside complex organisations.
Now, as the founder and CEO of Sustainability 360, Caroline helps other businesses embed sustainability into day-to-day operations through a mix of digital ESG tools, structured support, and practical resources. Her approach goes beyond strategy and reporting - enabling teams to take action, engage others, and build a culture of sustainability that lasts.
Caroline is also a Professor of Practice at the University of Canterbury, where she teaches executive education programmes on leading change and embedding sustainability across an organisation.
John Eatwell is a Chartered Organisational Psychologist who has spent his career helping leaders make change stick - not just in theory, but in the day-to-day behaviours of their teams.
With experience across government, infrastructure, manufacturing and corporate sectors, John has supported organisations through everything from restructures to culture change. His focus is on the practical side of behaviour – what leaders need to do differently, what teams need to see and feel, and how systems need to shift to support lasting change.
He brings a grounded, people-focused lens to internal engagement and leadership - with insights rooted in real organisational transformation.
