Internal Family Systems (IFS) Psychotherapy and Psychedelics: a systemic approach to set, setting and integration
Event description
Internal Family Systems therapy was developed by Richard Schwartz in the 1980s as an approach to therapy that acknowledges that people are made up of ‘parts’ (subpersonalities), with a core, true self at the centre. The therapy hopes to harmonise the core self and the different parts of the self.
This webinar will be co-hosted by Dr Alana (Lani) Roy and Emma Diamond, the hosts will explore the Internal family systems model, its practical applications in therapy, and the value of multiplicity in supporting psychedelic preparation and integration.
The webinar will cover the following topics:
- - What IFS therapy is
- - The 8 C’S of the self
- - The value of IFS
- - The relationships between parts and the core self: how parts can protect, polarise and build alliances
- - How IFS can be applied from both client and therapist perspectives
- - Using IFS therapy to evolve parts in psychedelic preparation and integration therapy
