Event description

Dear School of Psychology Staff,

Thursday March 21st is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD), sometimes called Harmony Day in Australia.

In 1960, on this day, in South Africa, a peaceful protest turned into tragedy. Since then, progressive-thinking sections of the international community have rallied to address injustice and stigma related to both individual and systemic racism.

IDERD remains an important vehicle for all to strengthen our voices against racism.

As part of an ISS-EDI School initiative, we would like you to join us for a multicultural light lunch to champion the school’s ongoing efforts for cultural diversity and inclusion. Take this opportunity to meet and learn more about your colleagues from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds. We will also be running a ‘cultural pop quiz’ with prizes to be won. So please come along and support this important day.
