The Global Rule of Law: At Breaking Point?
Can international law withstand the pressures reshaping our world?

As conflict, geopolitical tensions and challenges to international institutions intensify, is the global rule of law facing an existential crisis?

Join Prof. Yuval Shany, Hersch Lauterpacht Chair in International Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and former Chair of the UN Human Rights Committee, in conversation with Australian international law expert Dr Michelle Lesh.

Together, they will explore some of the most pressing questions facing the international legal order:

Is international law facing an existential crisis, and why does it matter?
Can the United Nations remain effective, and what reforms are needed to restore confidence in international institutions?
What does the weakening of international law mean for Israel and Australia, and how have conflicts in the Middle East contributed to the current challenges?
Could Israel's approach to international law and global institutions change following its next elections?

Join us for a timely and thought-provoking discussion about the future of international law, the institutions that uphold it, and the implications for Israel, Australia and the wider world.

This webinar is presented in partnership with The Great Synagogue Sydney.
