Intersection of Eating Disorders and Trauma

Join the Consortium for Research in Eating Disorders (CoRe-ED) and the Australasian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ASTSS) for an insightful free webinar via Zoom on Wednesday 5 August 2026 at 11am-12noon Sydney Australia time discussing the intersection of eating disorders and trauma from lived experience, research and clinical perspectives.

We recognise that people have diverse and personal experiences with these topics and we encourage attendees to engage in a way that feels safe and appropriate for them.

Our webinar presenters will be:

Sally Stamm: Lived experience expert and CoRe-ED registrant who will present on her experiences of trauma in eating disorder treatment settings and her hopes for systemic change.

Sinead Day: Early career clinical psychologist and Post-Doctoral Researcher at University Technology Sydney who will present her novel research on the intersection of trauma and eating disorders.

Sarah McMahon: Registered psychologist and owner of BodyMatters Australasia (CoRe-ED partner) who will present on the clinical treatment of eating disorders and trauma.

There will be an extensive Q&A session to follow the presentations.
