Event description

An introductory course designed to help individuals understand the historical context of the term “Intersectionality”, why it is important and how an intersectional lens can shape a more equitable world. The workshop provides examples and practical guidance on how to apply an intersectional framework within various areas, from research, data analysis, and designing policies.

Please note: This is an introductory course designed for anyone who wants to learn a bit more about intersectionality with a focus on people leadership and workplace design. While there is relevance to global contexts, we will be focusing on Australian content for this workshop.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define intersectionality and its key concepts
  • Explain why intersectionality is important when discussing social equity
  • Apply intersectionality to analyse workplace inclusion and equity strategies
  • Understand the importance of applying an Intersectional lens
