Event description

Join us at GeCo on Wednesday the 31st of July for an informative workshop called "Intersex 101"

This Better Lives session is focused on public understanding of innate variations of sex characteristics (intersex).  We will be looking at historical and current perceptions of what intersex is as well as how this population view themselves.  An in depth focus on common variations and their needs in different environments will also be discussed.  An open discussion will finish the session and questions will be answered and hopefully asked.

Our specialist speaker is Simone-Lisa Anderson from Working It Out.

Simone-lisa is a qualified Educator with expertise in adult learning.  She creates a safe, interactive and reflective space for participants using her experience and expertise from being a board member of Intersex Peer Support Australia (IPSA)/ peer support for people with Intersex bodies, and working extensively with, the intersex community and other bodies to further intersex Education.
