Interview With a Paralympian: Lessons to Power Your Own Journey
Event description
Wayne Phipps became Australia's third ever Paralympian to compete in judo when he represented the country at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020.
Join us for an incredible opportunity to get to know a Paralympian, as our good friends at NDSP Plan Managers sit down for a chat with Wayne about his journey to the Paralympics, and what you can learn from it for your own journey in sport, and in life.
Wayne has been an active member of the judo community since the age of eight, and after being diagnosed with a visual impairment in 2010, his coach in Perth suggested he consider competing in Para-Judo. After gaining classification he competed for the first time at the World Championships in Portugal in 2018, going on to qualify for his Paralympic dream. Wayne hopes that his long and winding journey to the Paralympics can inspire others to get involved too.
Wayne's favourite quote is, "Good, better, best - never let it rest - until your good is better and your better is best". Join us to hear how Wayne made his better best, and how you can too. Whether your sights are set on the Paralympic Games yourself, or you're just wanting to get more active, all of us can power our own journey with lessons from someone who has lived his dream.
With thanks to our good friends at NDSP Plan Managers for making this possible.
