Event description

Join us during Melbourne Rare Book week at the RMIT Design Archives,  a unique repository of Melbourne-based design practice, to view and discuss its collection of independent publishing, that includes independently published material includes work by small presses from throughout the decades in many types of formats such as the material produced by Fast Forward (cassette and sleeve), Is Not Magazine (posters), Crowd, Virgin Press and JillPosters. For this session Michael & Zenobia have sifted the collection to share insights into the legacy of Melbourne’s burgeoning publishing scene; the processes used in the production of this material and their cultural legacies as well as sharing some recent examples of projects utilising sources from the archive.
