Event description

THIS IS A TRADE ONLY EVENT FOR HOSPITALITY AND WINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATES- FOR CONSUMER TASTINGS VISIT https://events.humanitix.com/into-the-vines-taste-of-origin

We have six amazing producers joining us at The Rochey with a lesser known profile in Melbourne, we thought it would be a perfect chance for the trade (hospo and wine industry) to discover more about these incredible winemakers!

This is your chance to meet these makers personally and discover some of their range of small batch wines.

VICTORIA: Werkstatt Wine

Bridget worked and trained as an artist for 15 years before commencing a Bachelor of Wine Science in 2019, marking her career change to winemaking. Since then and while still studying, she has immersed herself in the industry in her local regions of Victoria, and also in Tasmania, Burgundy and Alsace.

In 2022, Bridget successfully launched her first vintage under her own label, Werkstatt. In 2024 she was awarded the Young Gun of Wine ‘Best New Act’ category and was featured in Max Allen’s top 20 wines of the year.

In 2025 Bridget Joined Femier Cru, a new organisation that supports Femme/LGBTQIA+ people in winemaking and hospitality in a committee role.

TASMANIA: Peco Wines

Hannah and Ben have been making wine since 2020, with grapes mostly sourced from Hannah's parents vineyard (Swinging Gate Wines).

The duo have their our own regenerative and biodynamic vineyard planted so  will have their own grapes shortly. Their wines are made naturally, with no additions, including sulphur and no subtractions.

Their passion for wine began when Hannah's parents bought a vineyard, wanting to grow, make & showcase wines that reflect the vintage, soil & place they were grown & made, in a way that is gentle, doesn't impact the environment & is fun to drink.

QUEENSLAND: Knucklehead Wines

Kyle Goodwin is the founder and winemaker of Knucklehead Wines, located in Queensland’s Granite Belt. His journey into wine began in retail, but a deep interest in the craft soon led him to hands-on experience in the cellar.

In 2021, he launched Knucklehead Wines with a clear vision: to create expressive, small-batch wines using minimal-intervention methods. Drawing inspiration from Italian varietals like nebbiolo, montepulciano, and sangiovese, Kyle works closely with local growers and uses traditional techniques such as amphora fermentation and extended skin contact to let the fruit speak for itself.
Since its launch, Knucklehead Wines has gained national attention for its bold yet thoughtful approach. In 2025, the label was named a finalist in the prestigious Young Gun of Wine awards, recognising Kyle as one of the country’s most promising emerging winemakers.

With a commitment to authenticity, community, and craftsmanship, Kyle continues to shape Knucklehead Wines into a label that reflects both place and personality.

NSW: Intrepidus Wines

Chrissie Smith’s Intrepidus Wines was only born in the 2021 vintage, working from a one-acre vineyard in the Canberra District that she farms herself. And that’s critical for her philosophy, with an abrupt career shift leading her to wine and quickly to a vineyard-first approach, recognising that the work done amongst the vines was just as important, if not more so, than the work in the winery. She's been a Young Gun of Wine finalist multiple times!

With three daughters under 11 and a single parent, she has managed to piece together an impressive practical resumé while now also studying viticulture

The label is currently built around sangiovese and shiraz, with tiny amounts of external grapes to allow for experimentation. Blends of the two home grapes make up a rosé and light red, while shiraz is also co-fermented with a splash of viognier, marsanne and roussanne.

Western Australia: YEAH Wines (Distributed by Pail and Cooper)

YEAH Wine is a family business run by Sian and Andrew Dawson.  They embrace not owning a vineyard, using this as an excuse to source grapes from friends across most of WA’s wine regions.

YEAH Wine aims to make wines of personality and flavour.  The WA United range focusses on offering super drinkability and super value.  The Single Vineyard wines aim to offer a pure expression of place and grape variety, while the Small Batch wines allow things to get funkier with interesting blends, skin contact, whole bunches and carbonic maceration used to build taste and texture.

YEAH Wine produces small batches (sometimes as little as a single barrel) of handmade wines.  Andrew doesn’t find the need jump on the band wagon and use gimmicky terms like ‘natural wine’ or ‘minimal intervention’, but instead aims to make wines as authenticity as possible; wines made with minimal mucking about!

SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Forage Supply Co

Forage Supply Co Wines is a Barossa Valley-based wine brand founded by best mates Scotty Rogasch and former Port Adelaide forward Justin Westhoff, driven by the belief that good fruit makes good wine.

Embracing a minimal intervention approach, they craft wines that are fun, approachable, and full of character. Their philosophy centers on sustainability, with a strong commitment to giving back through their social enterprise initiatives.

Forage Supply Co’s wines, including the vibrant Baby Face, the refreshing Spliced Riesling, and the bold Montepulciano, reflect their passion for innovation and quality.

With a relaxed, down-to-earth ethos, Forage Supply Co is more than just a winery—it’s a movement that encourages people to enjoy great wine while making a positive impact.
