CREATIVE LABS WORKSHOP: Introduction to Wet Felting

Open to all ages!

In this workshop, students will learn the oldest form of textile making known to humankind. Working with raw wool fibers, participants will create a layout that will be turned into an artistic felt wall hanging. Through the different stages of working with the raw fibers, soap, and water, the creatives will see the materials change in front of their eyes! Students will learn about the tools and methods and get to work with agitators like textured paddles, bubble wrap, and pool noodles to create their own piece of felted art. It is science and creativity all in one. The skills learned through this workshop can be applied to different wet felting techniques if the student continues their journey in the world of fiber arts. Designed and led by local artist Hollis Hickerson of Horned Hare Studios.
