Influencing government is a skill, not a secret. Whether you're seeking funding, wanting to shape policy or impacted by government decisions, this one-hour introduction breaks it down for people who want to engage with government more effectively.

We will cover the foundations that matter most: how to frame an ask in language that lands, how to map who really makes the decision, and how to prepare for engagement so a single meeting becomes the start of something rather than the end of it.

This session is for you if you are:

In a policy, advocacy, or government relations team and want to sharpen your approach
A founder or executive whose organisation depends on funding, regulation, or political goodwill
Building or scaling a start-up and starting to navigate government for the first time
Leading an NFP, peak body, or for-purpose organisation and want government to take your work seriously

You do not need prior experience. What you will take away:

The three power positions you can hold with government, and how to choose the right one
A briefing approach that helps a decision-maker say yes
A repeatable way to prepare for and follow up on any government meeting

These are the same tools experienced advisers use, distilled into the essentials.
