Introduction to Rag Weaving
Event description
Join WMRC and Sharon the Rag Yarn Specialist for an introduction to rag weaving workshop! This sustainable workshop will teach participants how to reuse old clothing through ragging and weaving.
Attendees will learn how to:
1) Turn old textiles into rag yarn. Please bring your own items to rag (must be washed and made of stretchy material).
2) Create a weaving station from cardboard boxes.
3) Make a scrubbing dishcloth from your rag yarn.
This is a great workshop for people passionate about sustainability and looking for new ways to upcycle unwanted or unneeded textile items.
This workshop is family-friendly and suitable for all ages!
