Intro to community action on climate and energy - workshop series
Event description
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
This free introductory programme consists of four workshops to help you discover the opportunities in the city around community energy, and to learn alongside other community organisations that face the same challenges as you.
What's on offer?
- Expert advice to help you save money and reduce operating costs
- A bursary of £150 per organisation to attend each in-person session
- Help to engage with local people about their energy concerns
- Opportunity to build your network
- Case studies from community organisations that have already taken action on climate and energy
- An introduction to the kinds of finance that are available for energy projects and how to access it
- How to use data to discover the potential for community energy projects in your area
- The potential for skills and training opportunities for people in your community.
Who is this programme for?
These workshops will suit organisations that:
• work with communities in the city
• are interested in taking action and would benefit from support and guidance
• own or lease a building (though this is not essential)
• can commit to attending at least three of the workshops and completing a pre-workshop survey
Your organisation may have done some work around climate or energy issues in your neighbourhood – but note that no prior knowledge is needed.
To be eligible for the bursary, organisations should be a constituted group with an organisational bank account.
