Intro to Drypoint Intaglio Printmaking
Event description
In this hands-on workshop learn how to create a drypoint intaglio print. Working on acrylic, you will be introduced to a range of drypoint etching techniques and produce a series of prints on paper using an etching press.
A drypoint mark is created through using a sharp, pointy or abrasive tool onto a soft surface such as plastics or soft metals. These marks are then inked with a soft, buttery etching ink and printed onto cotton paper.
Participants to bring:
Gloves to prevent inky fingers
Apron/Protective shirt or wear clothing appropriate for an art workshop
A folder or bag to take prints home in (newsprint provided for interleaving)

Please note that this workshop incudes the use of shared materials and equipment. You will also be sharing the space with others including shared inking and printing stations.
Tea, coffee and snacks are available for purchase from the art centre.
