    Intro to Improv

    (half-day intensive, in-person workshop, Edinburgh)

A half-day introduction to the core skills of improvised comedy.

This 4 hour workshop will involve a mixture of fun games, improv exercises, scenes, and group activities. Participants will be given a thorough grounding in improvised comedy techniques, including:

    • Listening
    • Spontaneity
    • “Yes And”
    • Staying open and flexible in performance
    • Trusting and developing ideas
    • Creating interesting characters

Complete beginners welcome! You don't need any drama, acting, comedy or improv experience whatsoever.

You don't have to be clever, fast or funny either! Improvised comedy is not the same as stand-up - you're not alone on stage, and it's not about telling jokes.

It's about working together as a team with other improvisers to spontaneously create group stories, scenes and sketches.

Will's improv workshops are always a low-stakes, safe, and extremely supportive environment. There is no pressure to be funny or clever! Instead, participants are encouraged to be obvious and to have fun.
