Intro to Quilting: English Paper Piecing Workshop
Event description
English paper piecing (EPP) is a quilting method done mostly by hand and is used to make more intricate patterns. In this class, you will learn how to prepare your fabric shapes and sew them together. You will leave with either a completed pincushion, coaster, or the start of a bigger hexie quilt!
This is a great way to use of your fabric scraps to create beautiful (and practical) art! No sewing experience/knowledge is needed! Participants can opt to bring their own fabric to use (optional) but all materials (incl. fabric) will be provided.
English paper piecing (EPP) is “a traditional method of hand sewing pieces together that hold their shape by being secured to paper pieces using either glue or thread. Once the quilt top is finished, papers are removed and the quilt can be finished as you would any quilt.” Source
