Introducing... Mendel - ALTEREGO 3rd Anniversary

Recognising a substantial void in community engagement, cultural expression, and opportunities for young creatives, they were compelled by a shared desire to bridge these gaps. 

Their mission, rooted in a profound passion for authentic experiences, seeks to unite people and foster a sense of belonging within the community. 

Acknowledging the untapped potential in Noosa, ALTEREGO is committed to creating a platform where individuals can freely express themselves, celebrating the richness of culture and the vibrancy of creativity.

Drawing inspiration from traditional approaches, ALTEREGO aims to create innovative and meaningful human connections. 

They emphasise the importance of engaging all the senses in their experiences, countering the perceived takeover of technology in daily life as an effort to reclaim freedom."

This is our 3rd anniversary. We are super excited to share with you a moment of deep listening, movement and art, on our first event of ALTEREGO's listening bar series.

Nowadays, mainstream music is ruling our day when entering any shop, retail store or hospitality venue. 

Venue playlists are increasingly determined by Spotify algorithms. Sound design is often an afterthought in Australian venues. 

Studies and reviews across hospitality business show more and more that people have been severely disturbed by noise while going out, either from bad acoustics or lo-fi streamed music played in wi-fi streamed sound systems.

For this occasion we are thrilled to announce Mendel as our main act of the night. 

Born and raised in Amsterdam, Mendel has immersed himself in the city’s rich cultural tapestry of record stores and nightlife. 

Since 2018, Mendel has been running Ciranda, a community-driven event series. Ciranda holds a residency at Doka, one of Amsterdam’s most audio-forward venues, programming platforms upcoming talent, unsung heroes, and the occasional legend.

Though his dance floors always move through moments of euphoria, Mendel favours the sensual moments over fist-pumping fixations. From sweet boogie steppers and high-energy disco to deeper house, moody electro, and gritty acid tracks.

If you attended any of our previous events, it's sure you've danced one of Mendel's productions and edits. We cannot be happier to have him himself delivering the goods this time.
