Event description

Building stronger and more sustainable pathways and collaborative workforce responses to attract and retain a vibrant and talented workforce…

This project aims to create a mix of workforce initiatives, created together, to support attraction, recruitment, and retention challenges in the coming years.

Currently our sector is experiencing significant challenges and pressures in attracting qualified and/or suitably capable workers, often exacerbated in regional, rural, and remote locations across Queensland. It is estimated the sector’s workforce will need to increase by up to one half of current levels in the coming years to meet expected sector reform and change. As identified in the government’s response to Hear her voice Report One, WorkUP Queensland is a lead partner in recommendation 30, attracting, recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce.

With a lens of curiosity, we invite you to be part of this important conversation to introduce and build awareness of the GtW work thus far and through your feedback and advice, add further detail to the creative and innovative mix of workforce responses that are emerging as possibilities.

We will share progress and focus on key emerging insights and learning thus far to inform impactful, workforce strategies, both with an eye to statewide and place-based implementation.

We will:

  • Share a short history and context of the project and how we got here.
  • Have a guided walk-through key element of insights and learning through our discovery phase.
  • Test, gather feedback and gauge interest and appetite for achievable workforce responses to inform strategy implementation this year and beyond.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this brief introductory and overview session to connect into WorkUP’s dedicated Growing the Workforce (GtW) project.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to prioritising and co-designing (adding practical detail) realistic and achievable workforce strategies aimed to support current and anticipated attraction and recruitment challenges.
