Wellington Shire & East Gippsland schools- Introducing the ResourceSmart Schools Program

ResourceSmart Schools is an award winning, free program from the Victorian government that supports sustainability and environmental education, and is well placed to help people act on climate change within and beyond the school gate.​ It is a highly regarded, best practice framework for whole school sustainability. It is adaptable to your setting and guides you to embed sustainability into the curriculum, school operations, culture and community. ​

This session will provide an introduction to the ResourceSmart Schools Program for schools in Wellington Shire and East Gippsland.

Topics covered will include:

• Overview of ResourceSmart Schools and features of the program​
• Gippsland facilitators and where they work​
• The ResourceSmart Schools framework​, putting it into practice​ and timeframes
• An alternative way to approach ResourceSmart Schools​
• Support provided to schools​
• Reward and recognition​ opportunities for schools
• An introduction to RSS Online

This session is perfect for teachers, business managers and anyone from the school community interested in supporting schools with sustainability.
