The big piece is that makes this is such a unique training, is that it looks at both the person that's being supported along with a supporter. Supporters go to so many trainings that are all about how we help others, in the way of fixing others. We hear so much about compassion fatigue and taking care of ourselves, but this is the compartmentalisation of the person with disabilities and their supporters. What makes CCS so unique, is that you can't have one without the other. Someone's wellness is dependent on the wellness of others as well; you must bring it together. That is what is makes CCS model different. We support the wellness of the person being supported as well as the supporters.
