Our Introduction to Darkinyung Language workshops were incredibly popular last year, and again earlier this year! so we’re excited to bring you more!!

Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to Darkinyung Language, designed especially for Early Childhood Educators and Kindergarten Teachers. These workshops are delivered in a relaxed and welcoming environment, led by Mandy Shaw and supported by Leisa Sturt. Mandy and Leisa are committed to honouring and celebrating the revitalisation of Darkinyung Language for future generations.

Mandy is a Language Practioner with the Darkinyung Language Centre, holds a Master’s of Indigenous Languages, and is the Manager of the Connected Beginnings Team – yagunda baranggu ~ today for tomorrow (Darkinyung Language).

Leisa has worked in education for over 25 years and is the Team Leader of yagunda baranggu. She is passionate about supporting children, families, and educators, and is actively involved in sharing and strengthening Darkinyung language and culture throughout the community.

Throughout the session, Mandy and Leisa will guide you through simple, practical activities you can take back to your centres — from introducing yourself, to counting, games and even some singing.

Workshop details:

·       Duration: 2 hours

·       Location: Wyong

Maximum of two tickets per centre. This is to ensure that more centres have an opportunity to access these professional learning opportunities. Thanks for understanding.
