Introduction to Accessible Documents (Word and PDF)

Vision Australia is presenting training for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers. The session is free to all staff that offer CHSP. Each session has availability for 30 attendees, please choose the date and time you wish to attend from the registration page. You will receive a link to the Zoom meeting prior to the webinar date. 

Should you wish to take part in online training for Introduction to Accessible Documents (Word and PDF), you will require the following:

  • Access to a desktop/laptop computer with a stable internet connection
  • Working headphones/microphone/speakers
  • Access to Zoom meetings
  • *Please Note: If you register to complete the Introduction to Accessible Documents training online, you will require Microsoft Word (at least 2016) and recommend you have Adobe Acrobat PDF (Pro DC) installed on your computer to take part in remote training. If you do not have these already, you may be able to install trial versions (subject to the software owner’s agreement). 

Expand on accessibility knowledge and dive into the specifics of document accessibility. This course will help attendees implement accessibility techniques into their documents, harness inbuilt accessibility tools in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF, and feel confident in making accessible documents for their community.

Course Content

The Introduction to Accessible Documents (Word and PDF) 2-hour live training sessions provides participants with practical techniques for how to make their word documents and PDFs accessible. Topics covered include:

  • Implementing accessibility techniques in Word
  • Utilising Word's inbuilt accessibility checker
  • Exporting a Word Document to PDF
  • Using Adobe Acrobat for document accessibility
