The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) Primary Industries Trade team, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia (CCIWA), is excited to announce a unique opportunity to elevate your business to the global stage with our - The Essentials of Agrifood Export Workshop for aspiring and emerging exporters.
This workshop will equip WA agribusinesses with the foundational knowledge, skills, and strategies to navigate international markets successfully, understand the export process, assess market opportunities, and develop the capabilities required to expand their reach globally.Â
Focus areas of Export 101 training for aspiring and emerging exporters will include:
- Strategies for expanding from domestic to export growth
- Macro exporting landscape
- Market selection & strategies – including key market and region insights relevant to the Food and Beverage (F&B) end-user sectors (Retail, Food Service & Wholesale segments)
- International competitor analysis
- Getting ready to export checklist
- Export tool kit – incoterms, payment terms
- What to look for in a distributor and distributor agreement
- Market access & import protocols
- Understanding the benefits of Free Trade Agreements (FTA’s)
- Export documentation requirements
- Freight & logistics – the supply chain
- Market engagement – getting the best out of trade shows, effective pitch decks, cultural literacy and marketing collateral
- Leveraging relevant financial grant programmes
The workshop will be hosted at two locations listed below, pending the minimum number of attendees being reached.
Busselton: Thursday 21 November 2024 - Shelter Brewing Co / 11 Foreshore Parade - 9am to 4pm
Perth Metro: Friday 22 November 2024 - Ritz Carlton / 1 Barrack St - Bell Tower Room - 9am to 4pm
Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea are included in the ticket cost.
