Introduction to growing with TreeProject Workshop - Wallan
Description
Upper Deep Creek Landcare Network invites you to a practical learning session to hear about the work of TreeProject and how you can get involved as a volunteer TreeProject grower of native plants.
Landcare and TreeProject have a long-running collaboration that's involved the TreeProject in propagating and the community in planting more than two million native plants across Victoria. TreeProject provides a unique volunteering opportunity for individuals to contribute to biodiversity by becoming growers of native plants from their own backyards.
In this session you'll hear from TreeProject manager, Susi Milton, who will explain the ins and outs of becoming a volunteer TreeProject grower, and provide hands-on plant propagation training. Participants will be able to take their seedlings home to grow, keep, and plant out.
This workshop is suitable for all ages and is aimed at people who would like to know more about Landcare and environmental volunteering, and how to become a TreeProject of native plants for local Landcare projects.
We also welcome Landcare group members and landholders who would be interested in ordering plants through TreeProject for their future revegetation projects.
No prior experience necessary. For people who register to become TreeProject growers all information, training, equipment and ongoing guidance is provided.
Arrival and registrations from 9:45am, workshop start at 10:00 am. Lunch will be provided.
