Introduction to Living Well with Rongoā

Event description

INTRODUCTION TO LIVING WELL WITH RONGOĀ  |  FACILITATED BY DONNA KERRIDGE

Join us for a half-day workshop with medical herbalist and rongoā advocate Donna Kerridge as she shares her knowledge and wisdom about rongoā rākau, Māori herbal medicine.

This event has two purposes:

- to inspire and educate anyone wishing to understand rongoā rākau – it's relevance, importance, and uses

- for Happen Films to make a short film about Donna's mahi and the importance in our current social and political context of understanding the history and practice of rongoā rākau.

All attendees will be asked to provide permission to be filmed in order to attend the workshop. Attendees will not be asked to speak to camera, and might or might not appear in the finished film.

What to bring:

- a packed lunch! We'll eat together in the outdoor classroom if it's sunny or indoors if not.

- appropriate gear for the weather and comfortable walking shoes.

There are 10 places available for mana whenua to attend the workshop free of charge, and 10 places available at a pay what you can fee. Donna is generously gifting this course in order to make the short film possible. A portion of proceeds will cover her travel costs and the balance will be donated to Brook Waimarama Sanctuary. Please pay what you can in support. We suggest $100 for the fully waged, in recognition of the wisdom Donna will share.

Please feel free to ask any questions about the event. We'll send out a reminder email a few days prior.

We look forward to seeing you there!
