This introductory workshop immerses you for two days in the world of Māori and Indigenous Healing.
YOUR FACILITATOR |
Hosted by renowned Māori Healing Facilitator, Chelita Kahutianui o-te-Rangi Zainey (Waitaha, Ngāti Kahu, Ngāpuhi) a Rongoa Māori and Kaimirimiri practitioner for over a decade. Chelita has skillfully taught and mentored many others who have come through this workshop, who are now practitioners in their own right.
THE WORKSHOP |
This offering is designed to deepen your understanding of Māori and Indigenous Healing and to immerse participants in the tikanga (protocols), wairua (spiritual) and ahua of Māori Healing and beyond.
Tauira/students will learn about Māori healing modalities including Mirimiri; Romiromi, Rongoā Māori and Taonga Pūoro as well as Hau Tapu Breathwork whilst immersing, learning and gaining hands on experience.
This two day workshop will focus on key fundamentals of healing practices from a Te Ao Māori perspective. These teachings, skills and knowledge are transferable across a wide range of modalities
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO LEARN |
The topics we cover are vast but easy to understand the way we teach them. These include
- Karakia - prayer, blessings and divine connection
- Purea/Whakawatea - cleansing and clearing sacred spaces, lands, waters
- Protection, Permissions and Cost
- Tapu and Noa
- Māori diagnostic systems
- Elemental magick
- Mareikura/Whatukura - Divine Feminine and Masculine energies
- Whakapapa as it pertains to Māori Healing
- Clearings and Activation's and much, much more
Tauira will also receive
- A comprehensive printed workbook
- Personal activation's and both opportunities to recieve and assist with Mirimiri sessions
- Hau Tapu Breathwork, Taonga Pūoro sound journey and journaling
- A beautiful high vibe shared lunch and Rongoā Māori Cacao + chocolate goodies
PROGRAMME |
Day One (10am - 4pm) will begin with an opening activation, karakia, whanaungatanga and then weave into the days focus on the matauranga and workbook. Breathwork, Movement and Kai throughout!
Day Two (10am - 4pm) will focus on putting 'theory into practice' as each participant gets an opportunity to both recieve and apply what they have learnt. Interactive, kinesthetic learning in action. Debriefing and feedback.

This is an OPEN AND ALL INCLUSIVE event so all ages, genders and cultures are welcome to attend. All levels of practitioners are welcome. Any and all backgrounds are welcome.
We have a limited number of scholarship positions available, so if you require this level of Tautoko, please contact us directly. Preference will be given to Tangata Whenua, Indigenous and First Nations.
