Event description

Dive into the expressive world of monoprinting in this hands-on workshop with printmaker Cecilia Jacobs.

In this special 'Introduction to Monotype Printing' you will learn the fundamental skills needed to create a monotype print and explore positive and negative space. Learn how to use both additive (applying ink) and subtractive (removing ink) methods with a variety of tools and techniques. Through the use of multiple colours, you'll also gain an introduction to basic colour theory.

By the end of the 3.5hr workshop, you'll have created a beautiful series of original prints to take home.
All materials provided.

  • How to safely use the printing press

  • Learn monotype techniques using a variety of tools

  • Learn how to use multiple colours in your print design

  • Learn about the types of papers and tools used for printmaking
