Introduction to Monotypes - Sat 15th Mar
Event description
People are loving our introduction to printmaking classes held once a month.
In this three-hour workshop you will learn the fundamental skills needed to create a monotype print and explore positive and negative space. Learn how to use both additive (applying ink) and subtractive (removing ink) methods. You will also learn how to use a printing press and the type of tools and papers used for monotype printing.
Whether you are a beginner or looking to brush up on your printmaking skills, this class offers one-to-one tuition in a small group setting.
Tutor Cecilia Jacobs is a visual artist specialising in printmaking. Cecilia's process-based prints navigate a space between nature and abstraction, as she uses printmaking as a vital tool for her practice.
If you are interested in continuing to expand your skills in printmaking, you can join Cecilia in a six-week drypoint and monotype printing course starting in Term 2, Wednesday 14th May.
