Introduction to Oral Storytelling: A workshop for teachers, librarians, parents and you!
Canning Bridge Community Space
Mount Pleasant WA, Australia
Event description
Oral storytelling is a powerful tool for educators to help build connections, enhance literacy (specifically speaking and listening), and nurture imagination and creativity.
It’s not reading from a page, but crafting and sharing a story from memory, voice, and presence, and provides a way to build a deep connection/attention with the listeners.
This practical, playful introduction with Alyssa Curtayne, who has been teaching for 30 years, equips you with a short story you can use immediately, but also gives you an insight into the possibilities of its applications in the classroom setting.
