Introduction to Photography with Sue Gordon
Description
Introduction to Photography with Sue Gordon, assisted by Mel Sinclair
Great photographs begin long before you press the shutter.
Join Sue Gordon, assisted by Mel Sinclair, for a practical, hands-on workshop designed to help you see the photograph before you take it. Explore how light, composition, exposure and viewpoint work together to transform an ordinary scene into a compelling image.
We’ll begin with some simple theory before heading into practical exercises that will challenge you to slow down, look differently and make intentional choices about what—and how—you photograph.
This is not a technical “how to use your camera” workshop. We ask that participants already have a basic understanding of their camera or phone, so we can focus on the creative decisions that make an image stronger.
Perfect for beginners who want to build confidence, develop their photographic eye and discover the difference between simply taking a photograph and truly seeing an image.
Please bring your desired capture device, whether a phone or camera. If bringing a DSLR or device with a detachable lens, consider something mid-ranged such as a 24-70mm or similar length prime lens, eg 35mm or 50mm.
This project has been supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Ipswich City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
