Introduction to Reproductive Coercion and Abuse

Join Children by Choice and Wyndham City for an introductory webinar on Reproductive Coercion and Abuse (RCA): Identifying and Responding to Clients in Need. In this interactive session, we will explore RCA in intimate partner relationships, significant relationships, and broader systemic contexts. We’ll examine how social, cultural, and institutional factors influence reproductive coercion and abuse.

This introductory webinar aims to build the capacity of professionals working in health, domestic, and family violence sectors to understand and identify RCA in their practice.

Children by Choice is a Queensland-based Not for Profit organisation dedicated to providing evidence-based information on all pregnancy options, including abortion, adoption, kinship care, and parenting for the past 53 years. We offer free, non-judgemental pregnancy options counselling, information, and financial assistance to people across Queensland. We welcome all pregnant people, and Medicare is not a barrier to access.

Our statewide service is available via phone and in-person at our Brisbane office, operating Monday to Saturday from 8am to 7pm AEST. We provide both pre- and post-abortion counselling and support.

In addition to direct client services, we deliver sexual and reproductive health education and Values Clarification Workshops to healthcare professionals and community members across Australia. Our work is grounded in reproductive justice, advancing Queenslanders’ reproductive choices and improving access to safe, legal abortion care.
