Introduction To Woodworking
Event description
Come and join our Hands-on woodworking workshop!
If you've never used tools before (or it's been a while!), come along, get creative, and learn about woodworking! We're running an Introduction To Woodworking session to help you improve your skills and feel confident with the tools and we always have a lot of laughs on the way!
Join us for our Saturday session:
Learn to Make a toolbox | Sat May 31st | 1:30pm - 5pm.
Get hands-on with hand tools and learn how to use hammers, nails, clamps, handsaws, and different grades of sandpaper. No previous experience is needed.
See what you'll be making below. It doesn't have to be used as a tool box. It's great for carrying anything from tools, kitchen utensils, crafts and many other things!
Materials and tools are provided. We recommend you eat lunch beforehand, but we will have tea, coffee and light snacks in the afternoon.
FAQS:
What do I wear?
Wear suitable clothes for dusty work. Wear sensible shoes. Ensure long hair is tied back. Please remove all hanging jewellery such as necklaces. For colder weather, wear a jumper, as the workshop has outdoor portions.
Safety equipment will be supplied, but you're welcome to bring your own ear protection, safety glasses and/or face masks if preferred.
After attending, you're welcome to join Parramatta Women's Shed to create your projects in your own time. If you don't have a project in mind, it doesn't matter, we have some options for you to choose.
