Description

A Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE) is a special type of business-for-good that employs people who need the jobs most, rather than the best people for the jobs. They train, support and employ vulnerable cohorts, to create opportunities for those who might otherwise be locked out of the workforce.

For anyone considering starting a WISE or making their organisation more impactful by employing a cohort that need additional support, it is helpful to consider the pros, cons, and funding implications.

Join our CEO, Kylie Flament, who previously ran a WISE for five years, for this interactive session to understand how WISEs work, some common misunderstandings and challenges, and to look at examples of WISEs that take different approaches to supportive employment.

Who is this event for?

  • Open to anyone, it will be of particular interest to:

  • People considering starting a WISE

  • Businesses, charities and social enterprises wanting to employ vulnerable cohorts of people to make a positive social impact

  • Employment service providers

  • Funders
