One of the ultimate goals in our lives is to find deep peace and lasting joy. However, our mind is not designed for that. The mind is designed for survival, to keep us alert and ready to react to any perceived threats.
Spiritually helps us to go beyond the mind and the transcend the limitations of not only our mind, but our body. That's the purpose of spirituality, to help us free ourselves from suffering, which is all a construction of our own mind. Suffering is: Stress, anxiety, worry, anger, uneasiness in our body, etc. Would you like to overcome that? Well, that's the promise that spiritual practices offer.
Spiritual practices go beyond just overcoming suffering. The ultimate purpose is to realise our true nature, and this can only happen when we go beyond the mind, as the mind will not allow us to do that, this is because the mind (Ego) wants to survive, and transcending the mind means the death of it. Realising our true nature means: become awaken, enlightened, etc.
Spirituality is not religion (I’ll explain this during the class).
The practice of Tantra is a methodology based on pure ancient knowledge designed to transcend the mind, end suffering and become awaken. How? NOT by using sexual practices (this is just a misinterpretation of western cultures) but devoting ourselves to a very strict sadhana (spiritual practices) that includes practicing Mantras, Chanting, Meditating, Pranayama Techniques (breathing) and Asana practices. More advance practices include Fasting and Silence. All of these lead by a person who has already been awaken, someone who has already got there, a spiritual master or a "Guru". Someone who will guide us and will keep our EGO at bay.
This is what I've been practicing with my teacher (Guru) for now 2 years. I'm also leading a group under his supervision. We practice weekly together and we go to the Ashram to retreats designed to go deep into practice, to meditate, chant, fast, be in silence and everything I have shared previously.
